About Me

My favorite part of the writing process has always been revision—editing a draft, combing through each sentence, re-phrasing until everything is poignant and incisive. As a writing consultant, I get to do what I love: help clients refine and elevate their writing so they can submit, apply, present, or publish with confidence.

I hold a Master’s Degree in Social Science from The University of Chicago, as well as a Certificate in Gender and Sexuality Studies. I’m also currently earning an Editing Certificate through UChicago Professional. I received my BA in Classics from the University of Arkansas with a minor in History. I was a doctoral student in History at the City University of New York, where I completed advanced coursework toward the PhD.

I have specialized expertise in social science theories, the humanities, and historiography, as well as advanced methodological training in historical, archival, and qualitative research. I’m an avid reader, and I particularly enjoy reading literary and contemporary fiction, historical fiction, memoirs, personal essays, investigative journalism, and writing that explores social justice, multi-generational relationships, religion, and identity.

I’m proficient in the Chicago Manual of Style and Modern Language Association Style (MLA). I have ample experience with Canva, Substack, Squarespace, MS Office Suite, Google Suite, and Mailchimp. I’m also a member of ACES: The Society for Editing.
